EL 130 — College Literacy Strategies for Multilingual Students

This course helps multilingual students develop effective strategies for reading and writing complex texts while improving their English language proficiency. Students will analyze and compose texts of different genres, paying careful attention to audience and purpose when reading and writing. They will also reflect upon how strategies learned in class can apply to other contexts.

This course examines how language and literacy practices intersect with emerging AI technologies. Students will develop critical reading and analysis skills as they explore the social, cultural, and political implications of reading, writing, and speaking in an AI-mediated world.
