IL 362 — The Illustrator's Heritage I

3 credits; 2 lecture and 2 lab hours

This course is an in-depth survey of art styles and influences that shaped American illustration and how it impacted society. This semester covers the period from 1845 to 1950, exploring trends in art, politics, commerce and technology as reflected in illustration. Students will complete two projects and maintain a sketchbook.
