TD 110 — Print and Pattern Lab - Introduction to Textile Design

2 credits; 4 lab hours

This course introduces students to professional textile design practices, focusing on the use of traditional media to create industry-ready print designs. Through a combination of lectures and demonstrations, students learn key textile design techniques and terminology, culminating in the development of two print collections informed by market and trend research.

The curriculum focuses on the creative design process, product development, technical, and digital skills for woven, printed, and knit fabrics, carpet design, and decorative home products. Students gain valuable industry experience through a required internship. Curriculum below is for the entering class of fall 2026.
