HA 236 — Queering Art History in Visual Culture of Europe and the United States
3 credits; 3 lecture hours
Students are introduced to the historical and social contexts and theorization of LGBTQIA presence and perspective, primarily in Europe and the U.S., from three angles: the history of artistic production by queer artists; representations of non-binary sexuality in art and popular imagery; and queering as a mode of reception and interpretation.
