FI 323 — Sexuality in Cinema

3 credits; 2 lecture and 2 lab hours

This lecture/screening course examines representations of sexuality in cinema, from the silent era to the radical ‘60s to New Queer Cinema and beyond. Students will consider the ways that sexuality and gender are cinematically mediated constructions, and how filmmakers worldwide have explored the complex relationship between gender, sexuality and identity.
