EN 461 — Advanced Creative Writing—Poetry and Hybrid Forms
3 credits; 3 lecture hours
Students build on prior writing experience to deepen their creative practice, engage with a literary community, and explore the possibilities of creating with words. Readings, generative prompts, and writing workshops will explore approaches including the lyric sequence, prose poetry, documentary poetics, novels-in-verse, verse drama, and multimodal forms incorporating video, visual images, sound, or performance.
Prerequisite(s): EN 202 or EN 266/FI 256 or EN 303 or EN 304 or EN 324 or EN 325 or EN 361 or EN 362 or EN 363 or EN 364 or EN 368 or EN 399.
