EN 234 — Introduction to LGBTQ+ Literature

3 credits; 3 lecture hours

Students read fiction, poetry, drama, memoir, and hybrid texts that explore LGBTQ+ identities across cultures. The course examines intersections of sexuality, gender, race, and class, and considers how literature reflects lived experience, challenges dominant norms, and participates in movements for representation, justice, resistance, and liberation.
Prerequisite(s): EN 131 or equivalent.
