EN 233 — Poetry

3 credits; 3 lecture hours

Students are introduced to the techniques of reading and writing about poetry from different times and cultures. By examining diction, figures of speech, rhyme, meter, free verse, translation, and other poetic strategies within the context of culture and history, students develop an understanding of the poet’s craft and vision. Prerequisite(s): EN 121 or ES 129 or equivalent.
