Equivalent course substitutions offered in Milan fulfill some related area course requirements. Students may attend the Milan program for one or both years. Refer to the department's website at for course and other related information. Students must complete IT 111 before attending the Fashion Design Program in Milan.   • Liberal Arts electives: 3 credits. See Program Coordinator for course(s).
  • History of Art: 6 credits. CHOICE of one (1) HA course that meets General Education Other World Civilizations requirement (G9) and one (1) additional HA course. See the full list of Art/Design History courses under HA: History of Art and Civilization. Art History course offerings vary in Milan for seventh-semester students.
  • Foreign Language: 6 credits. Two semesters of the same foreign language; IT 112IT 213, and IT 214, one of which must be a 3-credit non-conversational course (G8).
    Note: IT 111 must be completed prior to studying in Milan.

  • Social Science:  3 credits. SS 374 Cross-Cultural Studies (3 cr.).

**Knitwear Concentration:
The Knitwear Concentration courses taken in Milan are: Seventh semester: FD 356FD 451FD 452FF 395, and TS 431; Eighth semester: FD 497, FF 491, FF 492, and TS 366.
