Students explore the functions of fashion design and manufacturing production as well as their interrelationships by following a curriculum that is segmented into two distinct components. An understanding of the interactions among designer, merchandiser, manufacturer, buyer, and vendor is underscored.

Explores the social nature of human beings, how they adapt the environment to suit their needs, and how they react perceptually and behaviorally to the built environment. Emphasis is placed on the designer's role/responsibility in reacting sensitively to specific user groups and improving their quality of life.
