PH 252 — Photography 4: Project Development

3 credits; 2 lecture and 2 lab hours

This course is about developing a body of work. Through weekly assignments, students solve conceptual photographic puzzles and practice critiquing and describing photographs. They research contemporary photographers to understand the current photographic landscape. Technical demonstrations advance lighting and post-production skills. Students develop a personal vision and method of making images. Throughout the semester students will be assigned written assignments in response to a reading, lecture or exhibition.
